After your session
Reiki, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage sessions often trigger your para-sympathetic nervous system response - your ‘Rest and Digest’ mode. This rest and digest response undoes the work of the stress response - the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ state that we often find ourselves in, and it allows the body the opportunity to regenerate and heal. After your session, the following tips can help you prolong the benefits.
Hydration
Staying well hydrated supports your circulatory system, flushes out toxins and keep things flowing in your cells, muscles and joints.
Rest
Rest can be hard to prioritise in our busy days but rest helps to keep your nervous system in the para-sympathetic state (Rest and Digest). When our bodies is in this state it has the ability to clear brain fog, reduce or eliminate anxiety, boost your immune system and reduce inflammation.
Take note of how your body responds
After your session you may experience physical, emotional or spiritual responses or you may not notice any changes.Common responses are changes in energy or pain levels, relaxation, sleep patterns and changes in focus or mental clarity.Take time to checkin with your body and notice any responses you may feel, especially during the first 24 hours after your session.
